KENDRAPARA, Jan. 23 -- The mysterious death of buffaloes at Tarada village under Garadpur block in Kendrapara district has triggered panic among the livestock farmers of the village. Locals alleged that in the past one week at least 25 buffaloes were found dead.
Reports said, around 30 families residing in Tarada have domesticated over 500 buffaloes and earn their livelihood through livestock farming. However, the death of the animals has incurred them huge financial loss.
While cattle farmers have alleged governmental inaction despite repeated complaints, officials of the Animal Resource Development Department claimed that the animals are dying due to pneumonia therefore mass immunisation drive will be carried out to check the spread of ...
