Bhubaneswar, Aug. 25 -- In a major decision, the University Grants Commission (UGC) directed university and colleges to chalk out a detailed strategy regarding the fitness of students and concerned staff.
In a letter to vice-chancellors and principals of their affiliated colleges, the UGC has directed them to promote the Fit India Movement which will be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi on August 29.
UGC has also asked educational institutions to take concrete steps to spread the necessity and culture of physical fitness on the campuses.
