In an unfortunate incident, two people died and ten others sustained serious injuries during Patua Jatra at Tihidi block in Bhadrak district, when a DJ vehicle came in contact with an 11 KV electric wire on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Sarat Mahalik and Manas Mallik of Arasa village under Tihidi police limits.
According to sources, the mishap took place during a religious procession from Hatuhari to the Kantimangala shrine in Nuananda panchayat.
