At least two persons have reportedly died after allegedly consuming spurious liquor in Bampha village under Rasol police station in Dhenkanal district on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Manmatha Samal and Prafula Samal of Bampha village. They are estimated to be between 45 and 55 years old.

According to sources, both Manmatha and Prafula had consumed country-made liquor on Friday afternoon. Following the consumption, they reportedly experienced chest pain and shortness of breath.

Both were immediately admitted to Hindol Medical Centre for treatment, but unfortunately succumbed today.
