Bhubaneswar, Oct. 22 -- In a major development, two prominent BJD leaders have been arrested by Boudh police in connection with a ganja trafficking case, raising concerns across local political circles.
The arrests are part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal drug operations in the district.
The arrested individuals include Bipin Pradhan, husband of a former Zilla Parishad candidate from Kantamal, and Pramod Rana, husband of the Rengali Sarpanch. Both are reportedly close aides of former BJD MLA Mahidhar Rana.
Police sources said the duo was apprehended following extensive investigations into the illegal movement and sale of ganja in Boudh district.
