Kalahandi/Koraput, July 29 -- Yet again making a mincemeat of the tall claims made by the State government on infrastructure and healthcare facilities in rural pockets, a pregnant woman was carried on cot in the absence of ambulance services in Nagapada village under Jayapatna block of Kalahandi district on Monday.
Reportedly, the condition of expectant mother became critical after she accidentally fell down in her house. Though the village is 3 kms away from Jayapatna, the family could not avail ambulance services. Reason, one has to cross a 'bridge-less river' to reach the village.
Left with no other option, they carried her on a cot and fixed a tarpaulin over it to protect her from the rains. The family members were however assisted by...
