The counting of tigers has officially commenced in Odisha's Mahanadi Wildlife Sanctuary, with a focus on the Kushang forest range located in Boudh district. The census operation is being conducted across 11 designated forest beats, which include the Kushang, Shripaju, and Sheetalpani forest sections. To support the accurate monitoring of tiger presence, officials have made arrangements for the observation and recording of footprints at various strategic locations throughout the sanctuary.
