Bhubaneswar, Aug. 14 -- Even as resentment continues to simmer among consumers over frequent power cuts and excessive hike in the bill amount by Tata Power, transformer manufacturers in Odisha have alleged that the company is refusing to purchase products from them.

On Friday, members of the Odisha Transformer Manufactures Association (OTMA) alleged in a press conference that the company is functioning in an autocratic way ever since it took over CESU.

"Tata Power is not buying a single transformer from manufacturers in Odisha. The company is not even giving recognition to the State manufacturers as vendors," alleged OTMA president Sarada Prasanna Das.
