The Odisha government has announced plans to significantly expand the fleet of electric buses (e-buses) across the state in a major push towards green and sustainable transport.
According to Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushnachandra Mahapatra, the state government will introduce 200 new e-buses in the coming days, complementing the Centre's support of 400 e-buses for Odisha under the Prime Minister's scheme.
In total, around 600 e-buses are expected to be deployed for public service across the state in phases.
