Bhubaneswar, Dec. 28 -- Panic gripped parts of the Paradip area on Sunday after residents from several villages reported breathing difficulties, nausea and vomiting, sparking fears of a possible gas leak. The incident created widespread alarm, particularly in Niharunikandha, Balidhara and Rangiagarh villages, where multiple people complained of sudden uneasiness.
According to local sources, residents began experiencing health issues within a short span of time, raising suspicions of exposure to hazardous fumes. Many villagers claimed the air had an unusual smell, intensifying fears that gas may have leaked from a nearby fertiliser factory. However, officials have not yet confirmed the source or nature of the suspected leak.
