What began as a promising season for farmers in Balasore's Baliapal block has ended in heartbreak. The Subarnarekha river, swollen by incessant rain, overflowed and inundated vast stretches of farmland in Badapal village, leaving a trail of devastation. For four consecutive days, floodwaters submerged crops, destroying livelihoods and submerging dreams of people and farmers as well.
