Bhubaneswar, Dec. 20 -- A major tragedy struck a government school in Badabhundu village under Tiring block of Mayurbhanj district on Friday, claiming the life of a student and leaving two others injured after a signboard collapsed on the school premises.

According to official sources, the incident occurred when a group of students were playing inside the school campus during the afternoon hours. A signboard erected in connection with the construction of a toilet within the school premises suddenly became unstable and fell, trapping three students beneath it. The sudden collapse left the children seriously injured and caused panic among students and staff present at the school.
