Bhubaneswar, Dec. 17 -- Serious allegations of bribery have emerged against the jailer at the Sonepur Sub-Jail after a sting operation allegedly exposed corrupt practices inside the prison premises. The incident that occurred on Wednesday has raised concerns about integrity and accountability within the correctional system in Odisha.

According to the allegations, a person approached Jailer Panda Babu to get bail bond papers signed for a relative lodged inside the jail. It is claimed that the jailer demanded and accepted hundreds of rupees in return for signing the bail bond documents.
