Bhubaneswar, April 4 -- Bhubaneswar: Making the Speaker of Odisha Assembly, Surjya Narayan Patro responsible for the unpleasant situation in the House that saw hurling of slippers at the Speaker's podium and the subsequent suspension of three BJP MLAs, the Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik said that, had he allowed the opposition to put their opinion on the floor, this situation would not have arose.

Addressing a presser in the party office at Bhubaneswar, Naik said, "The Speaker did not allow the Opposition to speak while passing the bill in the House. I stood there waiting for my chance to speak, but was never granted any, which is unconstitutional. So the MLAs got agitated and such a situation arose."
