Bhubaneswar, Feb. 19 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday directed the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha to complete preparatory work for a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll, scheduled to begin in April 2026.

In an official communication dated February 19, 2026, the Commission asked Chief Electoral Officers of several states and Union Territories, including Odisha, to expedite groundwork related to the revision process.
