Bhubaneswar, Jan. 8 -- Odisha continues to reel under an intense cold wave, with biting winter conditions prevailing across large parts of the state. Similipal in Mayurbhanj district recorded a chilling 0 degree Celsius while at least 23 towns reported minimum temperatures below 10 degree Celsius, highlighting the severity of the cold spell.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cold wave conditions are likely to persist for another three days. The sharp drop in temperature has brought varied winter extremes like frost formation in some pockets and dense fog blanketing several regions, severely affecting normal life.
