2024's supernatural horror movie Shaitaan emerged as a blockbuster despite being an adaptation of 2023's Gujarati movie Vash. Starring Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, Jyothika and Janki Bodiwala, and helmed by Vikas Bahl, became the second highest-grosser of the year. After the success, the makers decided to come up with a sequel. Earlier, reports surfaced that writer Aamil Keeyan Khan already started scripting for Shaitaan 2.
