Bhubaneswar, Jan. 9 -- Severe frost conditions have gripped Koida in Odisha's Sundargarh district for the second consecutive day, following a sustained drop in night temperatures to below 5 degrees Celsius. The prolonged cold spell has led to dew freezing into ice during night hours, affecting normal life across the region.

Residents reported that large parts of Koida appeared covered in a white frost layer, with ice accumulation visible on open grounds, rooftops and parked vehicles during the early morning hours. The intensity of the frost highlighted the severity of the ongoing cold spell, which is unusual for the area.
