Bhubaneswar, Jan. 9 -- Large parts of Odisha continue to reel under severe cold wave conditions, with dense fog and biting temperatures disrupting normal life across the state. In several regions, thick fog persisted well into the morning hours, with sunlight remaining obscured until nearly 10 am, highlighting the intensity of the cold spell.

The cold has been particularly severe in the Similipal region, where sub-zero temperatures were recorded. Barahakamuda reported a minimum temperature of minus 1 degree Celsius, making it one of the coldest locations in Odisha.
