In a unique measure ahead of the festive season, Sambalpur Police have intensified surveillance under 'Operation Dark Night'. Moving beyond routine highway and main-road patrolling, the force is now focusing on narrow lanes, secluded areas and poorly lit corners of the city, where criminals often take advantage of darkness to carry out illegal activities.
Officials are closely observing individuals lingering in dark alleys and stopping suspicious persons and vehicles for questioning.
