Bhubaneswar, Dec. 30 -- Customs officials on Tuesday seized marijuana worth an estimated Rs 4 crore at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar during routine security checks, triggering suspicion that the contraband was intended for circulation ahead of New Year celebrations.

According to sources, one person arriving on an international flight has been detained in connection with the seizure and is currently being interrogated.

The seizure was made during the inspection of a passenger's baggage. Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Customs officials intercepted the consignment and recovered a large quantity of marijuana concealed inside the luggage.
