Bhubaneswar, Feb. 4 -- Odisha is set to witness a major upgrade in railway infrastructure with Rs 2,439 crore allocated for the redevelopment of stations across the state, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said while outlining provisions made under the Union Budget 2026.

As part of the Amrit Station Scheme, 59 railway stations in Odisha have been selected for comprehensive redevelopment aimed at improving passenger amenities and modernising station facilities.

A total investment of Rs 2,439 crore has been earmarked for station modernisation. Redevelopment work has already been completed at six stations- Cuttack 2nd Entry, Baripada, Barpali, Bimlagarh, Parlakhemundi and Talcher, while work at the remaining stations is progressing in phas...
