An FIR has been lodged against the 26-year-old cricketer under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Indirapuram police station, following a complaint filed through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's grievance portal, IGRS.
Section 69 addresses sexual acts carried out on deceitful promises such as false assurances of marriage or employment. It treats such actions as fraud and exploitation, punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
