The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Saturday announced its intention to introduce a new batch of Rs 20 denomination banknotes under the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series.
In its latest notification, the RBI has clearly stated that these upcoming notes will prominently feature the signature of Sanjay Malhotra, the newly appointed Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.
This marks his first issuance of currency notes in this denomination, signifying a continuation of the RBI's practice of updating banknotes with the signature of the current Governor.
