India, Feb. 2 -- Rayagada's district administration currently faces turbulent times as the Collector and District Welfare Officer locked horns by bringing corruption allegations against each other, sources said on Sunday.
According to the sources, accusations have been made by the district welfare officer (DWO) Asima Rao who claims she was relieved of duties and it was a direct result of her refusal to engage in corrupt practices, which were insisted by the Collector.
DWO Rao asserts that the District Collector inflated the bills of supplies for hostels to double the standard rates. She has sought redressal from the Orissa High Court in Cuttack, seeking to challenge her removal from office as unlawful.
