In a rare and remarkable catch, fishermen in Binika town netted a 100-kilogram fish from the Mahanadi River in Subarnapur district on Thursday. The unusual size and medicinal value of the fish sparked public excitement and drew a large local crowd.

According to sources, a massive Goonch catfish (also called Bodha fish in local parlance) weighing nearly a quintal (100 kg) and measuring around six feet in length was caught by local fishermen from the perennial waters of the Mahanadi near Binika town.
