In a significant decision ahead of the Durga Puja festivities, the Orissa High Court on Thursday granted permission for the construction of six tall decorative gates (su-uchcha torans) across key locations in the city.
The Court's directive comes as a big relief for Puja committees and devotees, as there had been uncertainty over whether permission would be granted for large decorative structures this year.
