A low-pressure system over the west-central adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal and the nearby north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast is expected to bring a fresh spell of heavy rain across the state, which is likely to persist for the next three days, the India Meteorological Department predicted.
According to the regional weather office, the system is expected to intensify into a well-marked low-pressure area within the next 12 hours. Under its influence, rainfall that began on Wednesday has continued unabated, with the entire state forecast to receive moderate to heavy showers today.
