Indian Railways has unveiled new initiatives to enhance travel experiences for senior citizens, women, and persons with disabilities, focusing on the allocation of lower berths. A designated quota for these berths has been assigned across various travel classes, ensuring that the needs of vulnerable passengers are met effectively.
In sleeper class, each coach typically offers six or seven lower berths, while 3AC coaches feature four or five. In 2AC coaches, the number ranges from three to four, depending on the total number of coaches in the train.
