The construction of the iconic chariots for the annual Rath Yatra of Srimandir is progressing steadily in Puri with as many as 200 artisans, including 78 Maharana Sevaks (carpenter servitors), being engaged in this sacred task.

The 'Bhaunri' festival, celebrated on the 19th day of the chariot construction process, was observed with religious fervour. The process began on April 30, coinciding with Akshaya Tritiya, a day considered highly auspicious in the Jagannath tradition.
