Bhubaneswar, Feb. 21 -- The hundi (donation box) of the Shri Jagannath Temple in the holy city of Puri received approximately Rs 18 crore 59 lakh 23 thousand during the last year, reflecting the continued devotion of millions of devotees visiting the 12th-century shrine.
Apart from cash offerings, devotees also donated significant quantities of precious metals. According to official figures, 3 kg 441 grams of mixed gold and approximately 33 kg 648 grams of mixed silver ornaments were offered at the temple during the year.
