In a series of allegations, the mother of a minor girl in Astaranga village in Puri district has threatened to take her own life after accusing Astaranga police of negligence and inaction, even ten days after a formal complaint was lodged over an attack on her daughter.
According to the complainant's mother, her daughter, a Class 9 schoolgirl, was reportedly assaulted by two bike-borne miscreants while returning from tuition on July 10. The assailants allegedly dragged her near a park and beat her before fleeing the scene.
