Bhubaneswar, Sept. 13 -- Odisha have been witnessing extremely heavy rainfall since Sunday throwing life out of gear in several parts of the State with Puri and Bhubaneswar witnessing all-time high rainfall on Monday.

Puri witnessed highest 341 mm rainfall in 24 hours breaking the record of 87 years, as per a data released by the Regional Meteorological Department in Bhubaneswar recorded between 8.30 am and 7.30 am today.

The last time when Puri had witnessed such rainfall was on September 20, 1934. The pilgrim city had then logged 210.8 mm rainfall in a day.
