In yet another incident highlighting the severe lack of road connectivity in tribal and forested regions of Kalahandi district, a pregnant woman from Sargipani village under Amapani Panchayat in Koksara block was carried on a cot through a forest path due to the inaccessibility of ambulance services.
As per reports, Hiramani Santa, wife of Jagara Santa, experienced labour pains in the remote village of Sargipani, which lies deep within the forest.
Due to the absence of a motorable road, local ASHA worker Urmila Thakur was informed, who in turn contacted the 102 ambulance service. However, as ambulances cannot reach the village, ...
