India, Feb. 10 -- Police in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar launched a crackdown on traffic offenders, carrying out checks at five strategic locations. On the first day of the operation on Monday, fines totalling Rs 95,000 were collected from vehicle owners for various violations.
Inspections were conducted at prominent junctions, including Nandankanan, Jayadev Vihar, AG Chhak in Bhubaneswar, and Link Road in Cuttack.
In response to non-compliance with vehicle regulations, officials removed black films from 19 cars, while 25 vehicles with modified silencers were seized. Around 72 vehicles were seized for illegal parking on the roadside.
Traffic officials have confirmed that these inspections will be intensified from tomorrow.
