Bhubaneswar, Feb. 23 -- Poaching activities have allegedly intensified at Odisha's Chilika Lake, with foreign migratory birds allegedly being targeted using nets and snares. The illegal hunting is said to be taking place in the Budhibar Diakuda area under the Balugaon Nuapada range in Puri district.
According to available information, poachers have been laying traps across parts of the lake, raising serious concerns about the safety of migratory bird species that frequent the region. The development has caused alarm among local residents and wildlife enthusiasts.
