Bhubaneswar, Dec. 21 -- PM Modi on Sunday performed the Bhoomi Pujan for a new Brownfield Ammonia-Urea Fertiliser Project at Namrup, located within the existing premises of Brahmaputra Valley Fertiliser Corporation Limited (BVFCL) in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
Calling it a 'big day' for Assam and the Northeast, the PM said the project marks the beginning of a new chapter in the region's industrial progress.
The project involves an estimated investment of over Rs 10,600 crore and aims to meet fertiliser requirements of Assam and neighbouring states, reduce dependence on imports, generate employment and boost regional economic development.
