Bhubaneswar, Dec. 17 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday addressed a joint session of the Ethiopian Parliament, becoming the 18th Parliament worldwide to be addressed by him. Describing Ethiopia as the "land of lions," PM Modi said he felt a sense of familiarity with the country, drawing a parallel with his home state of Gujarat, which is also known for its lions.
Calling it a privilege to speak in the "temple of democracy," the Prime Minister said he carried the greetings of 1.4 billion Indians and expressed admiration for Ethiopia's democratic journey. He noted that when the will of the people aligns with the functioning of the state, progress moves forward with purpose.
