Bhubaneswar, Feb. 2 -- In a significant development in the Pitabas Panda murder case, 15 accused, including former MLA Bikram Panda, were produced in the District Court for the framing of charges.

However, one of the accused, Madan Dalei, was absent from the proceedings due to health issues and did not attend court in person. Following the framing of charges, the court will decide which court will continue to handle the case as it moves forward.

Fifteen of the 16 accused individuals, including high-profile figures such as former MLA Bikram Panda and ex-Mayor Pintu Das, were produced before the court. The case, which was earlier being heard in the SDJM court, was transferred to the District Court for further proceedings.
