India, April 12 -- The Pink Moon, the first full moon of Spring 2025, is set to dazzle the early morning sky over Odisha on Sunday, April 13, 2025.

Though the name might suggest a rosy-red ball lighting up the night, the moon will not appear pink. Instead, this captivating name comes from the blooming of the pink wildflower Phlox subulata, commonly known as moss pink, which flourishes in early spring across parts of North America.

This year's Pink Moon coincides with a fascinating astronomical feature: it is also a micromoon, which means the moon will be at its farthest point from Earth in its elliptical orbit, known as apogee.
