India, Jan. 29 -- The Supreme Court of India on Wednesday directed the Trial Court to complete the hearing of the trial of the infamous Patnagarh parcel bomb case in Bolangir.

The Apex Court has instructed that the proceedings be wrapped up within a month, after reviewing a bail application from the accused, Punjilal Meher.

The High Court had previously set a deadline to ensure the case's expedited resolution.

To date, statements from 60 witnesses have been recorded, with testimonies from two remaining witnesses awaited. The incident, which occurred on February 23, 2018 in Patnagarh, tragically resulted in the death of two individuals. Punjilal Meher has remained in judicial custody since the attack.
