India, Sept. 27 -- At least 10 people, including three children, are feared dead after collapsing during a rally addressed by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and actor Vijay in Tamil Nadu's Karur on Saturday. Large crowds had gathered for the meeting, part of Vijay's ongoing State tour.
Several people reportedly fainted in the rush and were rushed to the Karur Medical College Hospital and private hospitals nearby. Hospital sources said many others were undergoing treatment, some of them were in a critical condition.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed concern over the incident, directing immediate medical treatment for those who fainted and were hospitalised after being caught in the crowd.
