Bhubaneswar, Feb. 11 -- One person was killed, and two others sustained critical injuries following a violent clash between two groups in Binika town of Sonepur district late Tuesday night, police said.

The incident took place near a pond in Ward No. 8, where a minor dispute reportedly escalated into a confrontation that turned deadly.

The deceased has been identified as Shambhu Meher of Nika Nuapada. He allegedly suffered fatal injuries during the clash. Two other individuals were seriously injured in the incident and were first admitted to the Binika Community Health Centre.
