Bhubaneswar, Jan. 25 -- Odisha's music fraternity is in deep mourning following the demise of renowned playback singer and popular 'Melody King' Abhijit Majumdar on Sunday. After a prolonged five-month battle with illness, the celebrated singer passed away in the morning while undergoing treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. He was 54.

Abhijit's untimely demise has left the Ollywood industry and his countless admirers stunned. Fondly known as 'Dada', he was not just a singer but an emotion for Odia music lovers.

According to doctors, his health condition had deteriorated significantly in recent days, and he suffered a cardiac complication on Sunday morning. Despite all medical efforts, he could not be revived.
