The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a high alert as a low-pressure area is likely to intensify into a depression within the next 12 hours. The system is expected to move in a west-northwest direction and head towards northern Odisha, bringing with it heavy to very heavy rainfall in several parts of the state.
