Bhubaneswar, Dec. 2 -- In a major move to strengthen transparency in governance, Odisha Vigilance has arrested 270 government and contractual employees across the state over the past one and a half years.

In a written reply, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated in the Odisha Assembly that these arrests were carried out between June 12 last year and December 21 this year. He added that repeated action has been taken against 31 government officials found involved in multiple instances of misconduct.

The Chief Minister further revealed that 187 employees have been convicted by Vigilance courts for corruption-related offences. Following their convictions, 34 officials have been dismissed from service, while 65 employees have had their p...
