The Odisha government has announced an ambitious project to alleviate traffic congestion in Bhubaneswar with the development of an underground metro rail system.

The initiative is set to connect Patia and the new CRP road, aiming to eliminate current transportation bottlenecks.

Odisha Works Department Minister Prithviraj Harichandan on Sunday informed that this large-scale development is anticipated to be completed by 2025.

In a bid to further improve the city's connectivity, a new ring road encircling Bhubaneswar is scheduled for completion by 2027, the minister informed.
