Bhubaneswar, Dec. 14 -- The Odisha government has set out a large-scale tourism expansion plan involving the development of 15 iconic destinations and the creation of nearly 15 lakh livelihood opportunities under its long-term roadmap, Viksit Odisha at 2036, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said on Saturday.
The CM announced the plan while inaugurating the seventh edition of the Konark Eco Retreat at Ramchandi, located along the Puri-Konark marine drive.
He said the state aims to reposition itself as a leading eco-cultural tourism destination in Asia by strengthening infrastructure, diversifying tourism offerings and preparing for a sustained rise in visitor numbers.
