Bhubaneswar, Dec. 7 -- Odisha finds itself in the throes of a deepening cold wave, with temperatures plunging far below normal and frost-laden winds sweeping across towns, villages, and hilly terrains. The sudden shift in weather has left the state shivering, as Kandhamal district, home to Odisha's Kashmir, recorded the lowest temperatures, with the mercury falling below 5degC.
For the first time this year, the minimum night temperature touched 4degC.
Layers of fog have taken over roads and farmlands, disrupting visibility and bringing morning activity to a near standstill. As winter tightens its icy hold, the chill is being felt in every corner of the state impacting travel, livelihoods, and daily routines on an unprecedented scale.
