The number of teachers across the country has crossed the one crore mark, according to the latest Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+ 2024-25) report released by the Ministry of Education.
The report highlights that the teacher strength, which stood at 94.8 lakh in 2022-23, has now touched one crore, showing significant improvement in the student-teacher ratio.
As per the findings, India currently has 1.5 million schools and around 9.6 million teachers. The report also points out that student drop-out rates have declined across schools.
